Meet Our Heroes

Who we are Running4
Bill Patterson

Bill's battle with prostate cancer began 13 1/2 years ago. He had external beam radiation followed by seed implants. He was able to keep it under control for the next 10 years with hormone shots every 6 months. Then 3 1/2 years ago he had acute renal failure and while in the hospital underwent several tests which revealed it had spread to the bones. He has had several different treatments including drug therapy, treating his cells and infusing them back into his body to try to make his immune system fight the cancer. And now, he is receiving radiated ion injections every 4 weeks for 6 treatments. He has opted for quality of life rather than quantity so decided against chemo. We recently celebrated our 51st anniversary and also celebrated our granddaughter's wedding.
