Shari Hylton
Shari (Warkentine) Hylton was 8 months pregnant with her first child when she discovered a lump in her right breast. Further testing confirmed that the lump was cancerous. Her daughter, Lainey was born September 8, 2008 and shortly thereafter Shari underwent a mastectomy. Shari relished being a mother and enjoyed every minute she had with Lainey. She quit her job at Sam's as a pharmacy tech and opened an in-home day care which allowed her to be with Lainey all day. Shari enjoyed her time in remission, but the cancer reared its ugly head again, this time affecting her lungs.
Throughout her battle, Shari remained confident and hopeful. "Lainey needs a mom" she would often say. Her smile and inner peace were a strength to those who loved her.
Shari lost her battle with cancer on February 2, 2011. She was just 36 years old. She is missed incredibly by her husband, Steve Hylton, daughter Lainey, parents, Blaine and Carol Warkentine, sister, Shana Meyer, brother, Luke Warkentine and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
